The Writewell Portable was originally conceived of as a small, packable Writewell, but as so often happens, plans changed and it made more sense to design it as a stand alone piece, and it turns out one we feel is singularly unique. 

Most obvious to the eye is the exterior panel writing surface. The surface itself is a self healing drafting table vinyl affixed to a rigid panel for a pleasant writing surface. On the reverse side you'll either find a smooth, synthetic felt panel or one of our Bookwardens. The Bookwarden features Loxx brand fasteners in the upper corners and snaps in the lower, allowing for quick and secure removal from the Writewell. 

Loxx fasteners are also used for the optional shoulder strap, a 1" wide affair of high quality bridle leather. Standard on all Portables is a hand strap that can be either laid tight to the frame of the Writewell for a more compact silhouette or pulled up for use. In both cases it snaps into place to keep it where you want it–and also to provide a very satisfying "chink" when closing the lid. 

The inside storage features a removable center divider and side dividers to configure the interior as best fit your needs. 

Rounding out the exterior features are shock cord corner anchors that keep the lid in place during travel. The lid itself uses the shock cord as a flexible hinge and is both adjustable (whether one wants the lid to stay partially open or lay flat when opened) and easily replaceable when the shock cord eventually wears out. The lid is magnetized in the corners to better secure it
