Life is full of small pleasures. One of mine is the first batch of Dark Eyed Juncos that arrive every year on the heels of winter portending better weather to come. With puffed out breast feathers, their chippy bouncing around, and pert tailfeathers pointing all over creation, I'm smitten anew each and every year.  

The bird design is my effort to take some of those elements of shape that make birds, well, birds, and apply it to the pipe. Intended to be whimsical yet gallant, the Bird features our signature heel making it a competant sitter while also visually balancing the weight of the bowl. From the heel we have a sharp transition to a lithe, some might say featherweight, stem.
