The Bookwarden is an absurdly expandable and overprotective slipcase for your literary travels. Originally conceived of after yet-one-more book cover was bent in my backpack, I wanted a portable case for whatever book(s) I might be carrying, but also one that would allow me to remove one book from the case without having to remove all the books (and case) from my pack.

I daily carry one with whatever book I'm currently reading (in my lunchbox, no less), and when traveling I tend to load it up as I'm not a light literary traveler. Once I'm to my destination the Bookwarden makes for a nicely organized travel bookshelf as it stands on end when fit with a couple of books or more.

While I prefer my book books, you will occassionally find my Kindle parked between a couple of paperbacks, or perhaps a journal or sketchbook. I'll even slide various and sundry things under the shockcord straps from time to time.

Speaking of which, the shockcord straps allow for the adjustability to fit the range of books that make the Bookwarden so versatile. Three straps line up with a series of snaps and can be quickly adjusted to change the hold on the books or to open it up for loading a large stack (single books can be slid in with ease without unstrapping anything).

On the opposite side of the three straps is the keeper strap, which either stays snapped out of the way or can be wrapped across the opening to keep any books from sliding out if the Bookwarden is tipped upside down (or, ahem, dropped).

The Bookwarded fits books up to 9.75" x 14.25" and will expand to hold upwards of 7" worth of book thickness, or more if you're slightly insane. It is intended to comfortably hold legal sized files as well, hence the addendum to the name.
