Bookfellow – Copper
Originally designed to be a simple, handsome, yet highly functional book weight, the Bookfellow not only checks those boxes but brings added functionality to your desk. A companion book weight and book rest, the Bookfellow weight will hold those pesky pages down while also propping that tome up to a more comfortable reading position.
The weight includes a solid bar of brass and weighs in at just under a pound. The bottom side is concave to better span the curve of the pages and includes anti-slip pads on the ends that are grippy enough to keep things in place but not so grippy as to harm the pages.
The rest can be positioned to raise your book either 1.25" or 2.25" and has felt pads on the bottom. When not in use the weight nests in the rest and makes for an attractive desk piece.
Monogramming is positioned on the left side of the brass bar. Circular monograms traditionally place the last name initial in the center, so one with the initials ABC would have it monogrammed as ACB. With that caveat, order things as most pleasing to your eye and we'll dust off our 50 year old pantograph and hand engrave that which you see fit.
Keep in mind that natural brass will tarnish in time and lose its brightness. Periodic cleaning with a high quality brass cleaner is recommended if the brighter finish is desired.
